The Library Has Gone Mobile!

Did you know that Purchase College Library has a mobile website?  When you access the library’s website  from a smartphone, tablet, iPod touch, or other mobile device, you’ll be automatically redirected to the mobile version.  (You can also use this URL: http://purchase.libguides.com/mobile/1062 to jump right to the mobile-friendly site.)

So what can you do from the mobile site?  Quite a lot!  You can check the library’s hours, look up books in our Local Catalog, access mobile-friendly versions of databases, download great apps for research and citation, and search through the library’s FAQs.

Here’s some more ways both students and librarians have been using the library’s mobile website:

  • Save paper!  Look up the call number of a book on your smartphone to find it quickly in the stacks.
  • E-read your homework!  Search mobile-friendly databases like JSTOR or Academic Search Complete for scholarly articles and read them right on your iPad, tablet, or e-reader. You can even use an annotation app to highlight and take notes!
  • Get Answers!  Wondering where the quiet study zones are?  Looking for a vending machine?  You can find answers to frequently asked questions about the Library in our FAQs. Don’t see your question? You can email us right from the web.
  • Ask a Librarian!  Under “Contact Us” you’ll find numbers for calling or texting a Purchase College Librarian as well as a link to our Ask Us 24/7 Chat Service.  Getting help from a librarian is easier than ever!
