“Coming Clean” Booktalk Thurs. 11/14 7pm at LIU (Dance building)
Author Kimberly Rae Miller will speak on Thurs. November 14th at 7pm about her book Coming Clean: A Memoir. The memoir, which was Amazon’s Best Book of the Month in July 2013, discusses Miller’s childhood growing up on Long Island with a parent suffering from hoarding disorder. The lecture is sponsored by the LIU Hudson at Westchester Counseling Honor Society. A book-signing will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
Description of the book: “A memoir about growing up in a family of extreme hoarders describes how the author’s childhood home in Long Island hid rat-infested stacks of her father’s collections and how the family’s emotional burden led to the author’s suicide attempt and her against-all-odds bond with her parents.” -NPR.org
