Acting & Writing Workshop Series at Harrison Public Library
Harrison Public Library is hosting a six-part acting and writing workshop series lead by playwright/poet/stage-director James B. Nicola. The “Performance in Practice” series will take place on six Sundays between September 27th and November 1st, 1:30-3:30pm. It is open to everyone, but advanced sign-up is required.
For Purchase College students (as well as faculty and staff!), this might be a great opportunity to share your acting and writing talents with a new, wider audience beyond campus. Participants will be encouraged to develop their own original pieces-stories, poems, short plays, monologues-suitable for sharing with a live audience. Choose your own level of involvement, as writer, performer, or both. Writers may adapt material from others or come up with something entirely new. Performers may perform their own material, or someone else’s. Participants who are willing will then get up on their feet to rehearse the polished pieces toward a live performance where we will invite family, friends, and library patrons.
Space is limited and sign-up is required. Sign up on online or call the Harrison Public Library at (914) 835-0324.
